Watch the video highlight as Lamine Yamal scores his historic first career World Cup goal for Spain in the 10th minute against Saudi Arabia. Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal has introduced himself to the biggest stage in soccer. Handed his first ever World Cup start by Luis de la Fuente after recovering from a nagging hamstring injury, the 18-year-old superstar took just ten minutes to make a historic impact for La Roja against Saudi Arabia.
Cutting inside from his natural position on the right wing, Yamal took advantage of the opposing defense’s lapse in concentration to get on the end of a cross from Mikel Oyarzabal and score Spain’s first goal against Saudi Arabia, as well as his first-ever World Cup goal.
Spain is completely dominated the match, and Yamal’s inclusion has given the team a different dynamic compared to its disappointing opening game against Cape Verde.
